Make Your Own Garden Stepping Stones - Class is Full

  • Stanley's Greenhouse 3029 Davenport Road Knoxville, TN, 37920 United States (map)

We are very excited to have Kathy Aycock, local gardener and arts and crafts professional, lead us in a stepping-stone-making workshop. This workshop requires registration and a small fee with details below.

Stepping stone details --
* Will measure 8" x 8" x 2" surfaced with self-grouting mosaic pieces
* Will be made from hypertufa, a substitute for natural tufa which is slowly precipitated limestone rock. Besides stepping stones, hypertufa is also a great material for plant containers and can withstand winter temperatures to -22 degrees Fahrenheit
* Will be made in a plastic mold to be taken home wet; the next day remove the stone from the mold, clean the top surface of the tile, smooth any rough edges, and let it cure undisturbed for 28 days. Then it is ready for use.* Each participant will receive full written instructions in a handout to take home, including the hypertufa recipe.

All materials will be provided for just $30. There are two classes on September 29, one at 10:00 and one at 2:00, and both are full. For more information about this workshop, call the greenhouse at 865-573-9591.
